Mash up of Itch to Stitch Celeste Dress in extended sizing, with sleeves from Anna Allen Anthea Pattern. I color blocked, with a treasured scrap of printed linen. The black is beautiful linen from Gray Line Linen in NYC. I added back yoke and pleats to break up back and make it roomier when sitting. I also dropped the arm scye about 1 inch and skipped the zipper. A perfect make for steamy fall day.

This pattern was not drafted for my size. It has lovely relaxed gathered sleeves. It is a dart-less swing top. The design ease accommodates my pear shaped plus size body. I made the largest size, 22 with absolutely no adjustments. My measurements are 48 bust, C cup, 49 waist, 59 hips. Warning Anna Allen’s patterns, are offered in extremely limited sizing, this is Anthea blouse. #antheablouse

This is top of my very first self drafted pattern. Also one of my first selfies. This was made possible by making a custom dress form. I saw this sleeve treatment on facebook and incorporated it. It is fine light gray linen, and the bodice is fully lined. Also my first center slit. Trying to keep design lines clean. The construction is a bit different but nothing crazy. Now to create a worthy bottom. The arms are covered but completely sleeveless underneath which feels amazing on.
Who wears it better me or my dress form. #sewover50 #plussizesewingblogger
