Took a break from garment making to make this little quilt for my grandnephew for his 2nd birthday. It has a “Find it” game on back. The alphabet and his name are on the front. I added a little hood option as it is to be the car quilt. Border print from my favorite local shop Quilted Threads. So much fun. Used new V9 Bernina software for embroidery and Appliques. Such a pleasure to work with these great tools. Also love my silhouette cameo 4 cutter. Back to garment making. #bernina #quiltedthreads #sewover50

Slow sew start to the year. This top is self drafted TNT pattern, but still required two sets of sleeves and three collars before I could call it done. Added pockets. This is Plaiditudes flannel from Joann’s, and tight check red/white cotton for accent. Not my usual color palette. Also, lipstick! A first for me. Now, onto making up some knit garments.#sewover50 #sewover50plus

This is top of my very first self drafted pattern….

This is top of my very first self drafted pattern. Also one of my first selfies. This was made possible by making a custom dress form. I saw this sleeve treatment on facebook and incorporated it. It is fine light gray linen, and the bodice is fully lined. Also my first center slit. Trying to keep design lines clean. The construction is a bit different but nothing crazy. Now to create a worthy bottom. The arms are covered but completely sleeveless underneath which feels amazing on.
Who wears it better me or my dress form. #sewover50 #plussizesewingblogger
