#MeMadeMay2023 is coming to a close. This outfit is my most favorite, happy place, and second skin outfit. Self drafted in a lovely soft lightweight cotton chambray. I managed to save it for the last day as a reward for completing Me Made May. I have discovered two things from participating in my first Me Made May. One, I have me mades that are orphans without coordinating pieces. Two, I have way too many fancy dress clothes that I really do not need or use. This has been such a great exercise in consciousness about my wardrobe. It will change how I approach sewing in the future. Thanks for all the likes, encouragement, and kind words along the way.

#MeMadeMay2023 it is Memorial Day in US, a time to honor those who lost their lives in service of our country. A somber day for my family as we typically spend it quietly at home. I am wearing a self drafted pin-tucked white sleeveless top, with one of my earlier wearable toiles of Cashmerette’s Vernon blouse, and my Pietra shorts by Closet Core in denim. It is one of those days with a massive temperature swing. I am running out of me mades!

#MeMadeMay2023 day 25 and I am wearing my hinterland dress by Sew Liberated. Three tries and I am still not happy with the bust dart, but it is wearable. I recently started hand embroidery which I hope to use to embellish some of my garments. Here is a first attempt. Tee is an early me made and I cannot remember the pattern. Cold wind blowing on a sunny spring day.

#MeMadeMay2023 day 23 and I am not myself. Today is the story of a beloved fabric gone astray. Using some treasured navy textured cotton I made my tried and true self drafted princess seam sleeveless dress, but I did partial lining of bodice to finish neck and arm holes, and I hate the lining. So this dress gets little wear. But in me made May spirit, I decided that after today I am removing the lining and refinishing with bias tape and this dress will really get worn! The shirt is Cashmerette’s Vernon shirt with the full bicep sleeves and a bust dart that is still off a bit after 3 attempts but it is a great shirt.

#MeMadeMay2023 day 22, self drafted top in apparel cotton. It is semi-lined with a very light cotton batiste. Originally it had large shawl/flutter sleeves but was too hot, so I disassembled and removed sleeves, then reassembled. Also used wrong side of the fabric intentionally! Love the stand only collar and front slit. Pleats make it nice and roomy. Perfect for this warm sunny day!
