Progress! Borders on and quilting has just begun⦠I am loving it. I found the border fabric and it started the ball rolling. Marti Mitchellâs Not So Giant Dahlia. Lots of learning and experimenting with new techniques and a bit of dusting off my old quilting skills. #batikquilt #quilting

My second Dahlia medallion. The color placement was inspired by Dahlia Dazzle made by Marilyn Giblin. Loving the challenge and exploration into such a wonderful quilt pattern. All done in batiks. #quilting #sewing #batikquilt

Self care! I am still not a fan of batch sewing BUT 6 pairs of leggings for myself. As of today I am getting rid of all my remaining ready to wear leggings. Just no comparison. Comfort contour waistband and no side seams all for under 1.5 yards of Amandaâs Bundles peached performance per pair. I am trying some mid weight for the first time but will probably stick with the regular slightly thicker peached performance. It is 87% polyester and 13% spandex. Breathable, moisture wicking and so comfortable. I live in these for 3 out of the 4 seasons. These are made using Apostrophe Patterns My Fit Leggings pattern generator. Sewn on serger and coverstitch machines. Added a little contrasting knit tag on inside to avoid the embarrassment of discovering my leggings are on inside out mid morning. Lol.

My very first attempt at a Dahlia quilt pattern. I bought these templates 12 years ago, and held on to them even after giving up quilting for 10 years. By Marti Mitchell, the ânot so Giant Dahliaâ templates. Used batiks, color choices could be improved. Starching the fabric made piecing much easier. But overall, excited to keep trying. #dahliaquilt #scrappyquilt #punkfrockers #sewover50february
