Self drafted sleeveless top, with exaggerated hi/lo hem, back yoke with pleat, side vents. Should be cool and comfortable when the weather gets warmer. Until then, it pairs nicely with my Marlo sweater from True bias. #sewover50plus #truebiasmarlocardigan

Here is the True Bias Marlo Sweater, in double cotton jersey knit. I down sized several sizes, did no grading. I made straight size 24. My measurements are 47 bust, c cup, 48 waist, 57 hips. I will make another with a more structured knit, and perhaps another size smaller. This is incredibly comfortable, and I love it for a layering piece. It was my first time doing buttonholes and topstitching on such a super stretchy knit, and I struggled. I did interface as instructed. #sewover50plus #fatsewover50 #truebiasmarlo

Tired of the shoulder seams and front neckline of my me made tee shirts going on walk about during the day. I will be applying a forward shoulder adjustment in all future makes. But fabric is expensive, so I unpicked the upper arms, and chopped top of tee shirt off, drafted new front and back yokes pieces with forward shoulder adjustment made. Then I combined front and back yoke pieces at shoulder seam, adding a seam down center of the back yoke. Seamless shoulders, color blocking, my new favorite rehabilitated tee shirt. #sewover50plus #sewover50

This is Apostrophe Patternâs MyFit Tee shirt in KnitFabric.comâs cotton Lycra – maroon. After entering many measurements, a custom pattern was generated to my specific measurements. I choose relaxed fit with low crew neck and long sleeves. Really gorgeous comfortable fit. I used my double fold knit binder attachment on my cover stitch machine for FIRST time. After an entire day of experimentation and practice, I ended up with a passable neckline. Measurements are C cup, bust 46, waist 49, hips 57. #pfbondage #fatsewover50 #sewover50plus

Took a break from garment making to make this little quilt for my grandnephew for his 2nd birthday. It has a âFind itâ game on back. The alphabet and his name are on the front. I added a little hood option as it is to be the car quilt. Border print from my favorite local shop Quilted Threads. So much fun. Used new V9 Bernina software for embroidery and Appliques. Such a pleasure to work with these great tools. Also love my silhouette cameo 4 cutter. Back to garment making. #bernina #quiltedthreads #sewover50

Muna and Broad Tarlee tee shirt. I made short sleeve crew, and long sleeve mock turtle neck. At first I thought who needs another t-shirt pattern, but my old TNT self drafted pattern was off and I could not find the right adjustments, so I gave the Tarlee a try. The shaped back was perfect. The shoulders were a go. The necklines went in so smoothly. I think I could even go sleeveless with a binding, and it would still offer great coverage. My measurements are 46.5 B/48W/58H. I made size E graded to H, with armscye adjusted for H sleeves to accommodate my larger biceps. Not my favorite color but great cotton/Lycra jersey from Nick of time fabrics, this was 12 oz. it was very easy to sew withâ¦I added extra 2.5 inches to long sleeve version, as a personal preference. I will also add 1 inch to long sleeve and 2 inches to short sleeve for next time.
P.S. Cut my Covid hair. I have been growing out my hair since lockdown, and decided it was time. Back to shabby chic! And I cannot take a photo without my dog these days, she insists. #sewover50plus

Slow sew start to the year. This top is self drafted TNT pattern, but still required two sets of sleeves and three collars before I could call it done. Added pockets. This is Plaiditudes flannel from Joannâs, and tight check red/white cotton for accent. Not my usual color palette. Also, lipstick! A first for me. Now, onto making up some knit garments.#sewover50 #sewover50plus
