Sometimes I briefly wish I could wear off the rack clothes, and then I think of all the sense of joy, accomplishment, pride, challenge, and comfort my sewing brings me and I am grateful for who i am and I would not change a thing. This is another Jenna by Closet Core. The pattern accomodates max chest 60â and 62â hips. This is my 3rd one. Just love the oversized feels with the fitted upper areas. This is in Plaiditudes from JoAnns. I donât buy much from JoAnnâs but this stuff if great. It is so thick after washing it is more like a shacket (half shirt, half jacket). Great stuff especially if you catch it on sale. I graded the waist and hips out. Top and sleeves are 1x. Fits my generous biceps. Just love it. Still needs buttons and some basting threads removed, and it will become a cold weather favorite for sure. #closetcorejenna. #sewover50november24

Babylock Applaud! After spending the day in a super fun class and using the Applaud, I purchased one and brought it home. What an innovative machine. I just threaded up metallic decorative thick thread, some variegated thick thread and three normal serger threads, and poof, magic. No fiddling with the tension, it sews beautifully. Sewing is my salvation these days. Applaud is a creative cover stitch sewing machine. Check it out! #nashuasewandvac

My latest make. It is a mash up of a self drafted blouse with the hem from Closet Coreâs Jenna pattern. This blouse reminds me of a blouse my mother used to wear when she was my age. I have been thinking a lot of her lately. She has been gone for years. I miss her. I still try to learn from her. She was a creative soul. I sometimes curl up under one of her crochet blankets and remember her handmade cards, her decoupage table tops and many wood working projects. She dabbled in so many things, but her work always reflected her love of nature.

This is Jenna blouse from Closet Core Patterns. Made from flannel from Zinckâs Fabrics in Earl, Pennsylvania. I bought a bolt for $3.99 a yard. I lengthened the pattern 2 inches. It is 1x on top and sleeve, graded to 3x at waist and hips. It is so comfortable. It is a wonderful make with clear instructions and some great details. I am planning several more. I highly recommend this pattern. #closetcorejenna #zincksfabricoutlet

Just finished testing the Lettie Skirt by Goldfinc…
Just finished testing the Lettie Skirt by Goldfinch Textile Studio. This skirt is in testing and the pattern will be released soon. It is a minimal waste skirt pattern. I made the whole skirt for less than 3 yards of 54â fabric. It has extended sizing, accommodating a max waist of 58â and a max hip of 66â. The design features a beautiful integrated button placket, flat piping accents, ample side seam pockets, and a shaped hem. The waistband is half elasticated making it so comfortable.
My make is made with a lightweight slightly shiny denim tencel. The fabric was a bit slippery and tended to fray, which added a bit of challenge. The flat piping is cut on cross grain which with this fabric tends to make it seem like a slightly a different color. I chose to do a front slit. The button placket is wonderful. The pockets are amazing. The flat piping in the seams adds a bit of structure to this flowy fabric, making the skirt skim over the body, and move wonderfully. The construction was straight forward and I would rate it for an intermediate sewist. If you are looking to dig into a bit of a challenge and need a wardrobe staple, this pattern could be for you. This is a straight size O. I am 5â4â so it is a bit longer than intended.
I did receive compensation for testing, but there was no obligation to share or post. I highly recommend this pattern.

Dividing my time between sewing and sifting throug…
Dividing my time between sewing and sifting through my father in lawâs possessions. He and my mother in law left behind so much. We find treasures every day reminding us of a well lived life. This is a quilt I made them back in 1998, in honor of their 40th wedding anniversary. A double wedding ring, machine pieced and hand quilted. The label was also hand done on muslin with permanent ink. Only ever displayed, never used. It has come back to me. I washed and dried it and it is going on the guest bed. Missing them both today. #quilting
