#MeMadeMay2023 Happy Mother’s Day to all. Wearing #munaandbroad Waikerie shirt over a sleeveless self drafted tunic with princess seams and pockets, and some rtw leggings. The tunic was the first self made garment that I received a compliment on from a complete stranger. She asked where I had bought it. I told her that I made it. She smiled and said, “I sew, what is the pattern?” I told her it was self drafted. She laughed and told me jokingly that she hated me. It made my day.

#MeMadeMay2023 day 13, off for some shopping which I honestly detest. Wearing a self drafted princess seam linen dress, embellished with chain stitching and tiny piping. The shirt in lightweight linen is an Eleanor by Sew Me Something. Love the design but instructions confused me. For extra money you can purchase a sew along which I declined. Fingers crossed I bring home some new shoes.

#MeMadeMay2023 day 12, this is my oldest linen dress princess seam sleeveless dress. There is even a back zip, which I no longer bother with due to my shape. The linen is whisper soft. I self drafted this using Sure-Fit Design system. This helped me really get started in understanding my body, and what I could do to make commercial patterns work for me. The top is Itch to Stitch’s Foz top which I was a tester for that pattern, another cool behind the scenes part of indie pattern companies and home sewing industry. The sun is out and I am about to shed the top, but the nights are cool and it takes a bit for things to warm up these days. Summer is coming… #surefitdesigns #itchtostitchdesigns

#MeMadeMay2023 day 10, this dress is a textured cotton from I believe Joann Fabrics, which was purchased and iced dyed by Jenny Hassler, and made into a Caramiya’s Dragonfruit dress, which I bought and reassembled into a dress for myself. I adored the original dyeing but it languished unworn in my closet. Just too much bright white for me to be comfortable in. In an attempt to make me reach for it, I attempted an over dye, but was too heavy handed and obscured the beauty of the original ice dye. That said, I still love it, the color is wonderful and in the sunlight the highlights dance, and now I wear it. Nothing ventured nothing gained. #johassler #punkfrockers #pfsewingadjacent

#MeMadeMay2023 9 days in and honestly I was not feeling it today. Cooler than expected, so my original planned outfit was nixed. Tried on a dozen other things. Pulled this hacked slight sleeve tunic from Indygo Junction made from two scraps of fabric. I added embroidery but in the end it lingers in the closet. This one is on its way out, making room. In Lane Bryant joggers which I want to replace as they are a horrible fit, but still comfortable enough to lounge in.

#MeMadeMay2023 Today I am stepping out. Vivian Shao Chen’s Nepheline blouse(max chest 48, hip 50), but design can work for larger waist and hips. Pants are Closet Core’s Mitchell pants, which I have made 3 pairs. They are comfortable and have optional adjustable waist. Both in linen which is my favorite fabric to sew and wear. #closetcoremitchell #nephelineblouse

#MeMadeMay2023 day 5, pulled out one of my oldest remaining makes (Indygo Junction’s Slight Sleeve Top and Tunic) up 3x, one of only a few paper patterns that I held on to. The shorts are Closet Core Pietra shorts in cotton twill, which I discovered last summer. These shorts are another super comfortable staple in my wardrobe. The top was also an early attempt at dyeing fabric. It was solid colored linen dipped in a blue dye. I absolutely love it, but perhaps it can only truly be appreciated by its maker.
