Just finished this Tulpen Top. A new pattern from Stokx Patterns. Made in a drapey lightweight woven for front, and the back and sleeves are a knit. Dressy looking with casual comfort. I never cared for boat necklines due to bra straps showing, but this design offers coverage. Very comfortable as it just skims over the body. Can be sewn on machine. I did use my overlocker and cover stitch machines but they are not necessary. Very Size inclusive. I made a size 7 on top and graded to a size 11 on hips. My measurements are 46 chest, 48 waist, and 56 hips. I also added some length to make it a long sleeve. I did receive a free copy of test pattern, with no obligation.

This is not the same old tired top pattern, the Tulpen Top pattern offers a new and clever construction method for the neckline which will spice up your sewing and your wardrobe. Check it out.

Absolutely loving this new Summer Birdy dress with…

Absolutely loving this new Summer Birdy dress with the recently released Puff Reach sleeve. I chose the no collar option, finished with bias binding. Fifteen snaps down the front add some pizzazz. Perfect side pockets. These sleeves are so comfortable, providing a full unrestricted range of motion while providing amazing upper arm coverage, perfect for my larger upper arms. The wide elasticated part of sleeve feels modern and yet the puff adds a softer touch. Made in a dead stock cotton twill this is going to be perfect for the summer heat. Stokx Birdy dress releasing later this week. What a great pattern. Size inclusive. So comfortable. I used a woven with slight stretch, and the reach sleeves with some modifications. The sleeve accommodates my larger than average bicep. Graded Sizes 7/9/11 and used size 9 sleeve for my 46 chest 47 waist 56 hip 18.5 bicep measurements. I am C cup and might size down the chest area next time. I will be making short sleece version when spring comes. #stokxpatterns This is the Stokx Birdy Blouse. Chest size 8, easily graded to 10 waist and 12 hips. B:46 W:48 H:58. All this needs is button, buttonholes, and a final press. This is so pretty in a lightweight cotton shirting. My next one will be in@linen. I took my time and this came out so well. The markings make the construction go so smoothly. I will be wearing it this weekend for a family dinner out. I did receive a complimentary copy of the pattern from the designer.

Stock Shirtdress toile with only hem left do do. Did some major tweaking to accommodate my large biceps. Very common adjustment for me. See detail photo. These sleeves are now as comfortable as the dress. My preference is loose sleeves which is challenging with my biceps. Next version I will definitely shorten shoulder seams. Love the back shaping, the double belt loops, and the cloth belt. Really enjoyed this journey. Thanks again to #punkfrockers and #stokxpatterns for the pattern. I have so many ideas for hacking this pattern.
Measurements C cup 46 chest, 48 waist, and 58 hips. I made size 6 on top, easily graded to size 9 in waist and hips. Biceps are 18.5 inches.

Here is my Stokx Shirtdress, in progress shot. I really love the design of this dress. I think it really works with my curves. Although, the construction is different in a few areas, it is cool. The one area, I am struggling a bit is with bicep. Even after grading up 3 sizes for my bicep, the still fit is good, but, not enough ease for comfortable movement. I am going to do full bicep adjustment to the sleeve, and try again. This is pretty typical as my biceps are proportionally bigger. This dress is worth it, with its modern design lines. Also, these are 3/4 sleeves which I will shorten a couple of inches.I love the wild shawl like collar, the pockets are perfect. The front yoke is perfect shaping and area for potential embellishment. The back shaping falls so nicely over my curves. This is going to be so comfortable. Also versatile, as it can be worn as dress or duster. #sewover50plus #stokxpatterns #fatsewover50
