#MeMadeMay2023 day 21 and it is a lazy Sunday filled with cups of coffee savored on the porch swing, a few chores, and a drive into town for some ice cream in hubbyâs classic car. So today, I present my me made nightgown, which I spent more time in than usual but it is such an important piece of my life in me mades. I made two at the time and I love them. Very thin cotton, soft and cool, yet pretty enough for a pajama party. I pin tucked the panels and then cut out a normal nightgown pattern. Just love the pintucks, button plackets, collar stand, and ruffled sleeve caps.

#MeMadeMay2023 Today I am in a self drafted princess seam sleeveless linen dress, with piping edges. The top is #munaandbroad Waikerie shirt, which is a real favorite. Embracing all the wrinkles both linen and mine.ð

#MeMadeMay2023 In a favorite self drafted dress. Super fine cotton shirting. Love it. Perfect for a full day sewing class with a favorite teacher. So much fun and inspiration.

#MeMadeMay2023 day 18, woke to temps in the 30âs F, and morning workout, so here I am in Cashmerette Stanton hoodie, and Apostrophe Patterns leggings in brushed poly from Amandasbundles. Anxious from warmer temps. Happy Weekend All!

#MeMadeMay2023 day 17, today the sun is shining but it is cold and winds are gusting, so I pulled my True Bias Marlo sweater out of winter storage. I am wearing a favorite rtw tee shirt and Mitchell trousers by Closet Core. Feeling kind of dapper. Only two weeks to go!

#MeMadeMay2023 day 16, cool and breezy day, so I chose a warm comfy 5 out of 4 Nancy knit dress, embellished with an Alabama Chanin Design Studio technique of hand couching knit ropes on to a knit garment and some embroidery done along the edges with cotton button thread. This had been washed and worn many times and it has become a favorite for chilly days. This was an entry for this yearâs Pattern Review Sewing Bee. Made in a weekâs time and my first time using these embellishments. Love it! Give them a try! #patternreview #alabamachanin #5oo4patterns

#MeMadeMay2023 Today I am wearing a Petrea Blouse by Liz Haywood, that I recently finished. I cuffed the sleeves, and reduced the length by adding a wide curved hi lo hem with side split. It is a low waste pattern that is excellent for narrower width fabrics. I used a printed chambray. The faux raglan seams are genius. This blouse has shape and interest beyond typical low waste patterns. I personally struggled a bit with the collar, and actually cut a new one 1.5â bigger as I suspect that neck stretched during construction. I deviated a bit from the pattern to reduce bulk in the neckline. Will be making the Smith Pinafore to wear with this, also by Liz Haywood and low waste. The sorts are Pietra by Closet Core in khaki twill. #lizhaywood3754

#MeMadeMay2023 Happy Motherâs Day to all. Wearing #munaandbroad Waikerie shirt over a sleeveless self drafted tunic with princess seams and pockets, and some rtw leggings. The tunic was the first self made garment that I received a compliment on from a complete stranger. She asked where I had bought it. I told her that I made it. She smiled and said, âI sew, what is the pattern?â I told her it was self drafted. She laughed and told me jokingly that she hated me. It made my day.

#MeMadeMay2023 day 13, off for some shopping which I honestly detest. Wearing a self drafted princess seam linen dress, embellished with chain stitching and tiny piping. The shirt in lightweight linen is an Eleanor by Sew Me Something. Love the design but instructions confused me. For extra money you can purchase a sew along which I declined. Fingers crossed I bring home some new shoes.

#MeMadeMay2023 day 12, this is my oldest linen dress princess seam sleeveless dress. There is even a back zip, which I no longer bother with due to my shape. The linen is whisper soft. I self drafted this using Sure-Fit Design system. This helped me really get started in understanding my body, and what I could do to make commercial patterns work for me. The top is Itch to Stitchâs Foz top which I was a tester for that pattern, another cool behind the scenes part of indie pattern companies and home sewing industry. The sun is out and I am about to shed the top, but the nights are cool and it takes a bit for things to warm up these days. Summer is coming⦠#surefitdesigns #itchtostitchdesigns
